NENSI DOJAKA
Dive deep with Albanian designer Nensi Dojaka as she talks about what inspires her and how she’s empowering women through fashion.
Kendall Jenner: What was the first item you saw or bought that made you feel a connection to the fashion industry?
Nensi Dojaka: It was a short baby doll dress from Miu Miu SS 2008 that my dad got me for my 15th birthday.
Jenner: Which fashion photograph is the most memorable to you?
Dojaka: Anything Peter Lindbergh.
Jenner: If you could be anyone else for a day, who would it be?
Dojaka: I'd love it if I could be an artist like a painter for a day and look at the world from their point of view.
Jenner: What do you want your legacy to be?
Dojaka: I'd like it to be the revival of body confidence in women through fashion.
Jenner: What is your go-to/favorite piece from your current collection on FWRD?
Dojaka: The deep V-neck draped bra long sleeve dress. I think it’s elegant and also sexy in a subtle way.
Jenner: Describe your brand and customer in three words each.
Dojaka: The brand: daring, elegant, sexy. Customer: bold, confident, feminine.
Jenner: What inspires your creativity?
Dojaka: Women around me for sure! And of course; art, movies...
Jenner: What role does fashion represent in today's culture that it didn't in the past? Do you think fashion or culture currently influences designers more?
Dojaka: It definitely plays a much more important role now, spreading messages of love and inclusivity.
Jenner: Does social media/creators influence your creative process? If they do, how?
Dojaka: Yes, I love the way they put things together which is usually a very different perspective from the one I show so it inspires me to look at things differently.
Jenner: When do you consider a project a huge success?
Dojaka: When I look at it for months and it makes me equally excited months after.
